School Nutrition AssistantThe School Nutrition Assistant performs semi-skilled work preparing and serving meals and other food in the school cafeteria.QualificationsMust have High School Diploma or GEDOne year or more of related experience in food service or a combination of training, education, or experienceDuties and ResponsibilitiesMaintains a positive working relationship with other employees and staffPolitely, respectfully, and efficiently serves students, staff, parents, and othersFollows a work schedule, a sanitation (HACCP) schedule, plans ahead, and helps others on the child nutrition teamCompletes production records as instructed on a daily basisTakes and records temperatures of food items as instructedCleans equipment (ex: ovens, steamers, refrigerators, milk boxes, etc) in the kitchenSets up, runs, breaks down, properly cleans, and de-limes dishwasherTakes out trash and washes trash cansPerforms other duties as assigned by child nutrition manager or building administratorSkills and AbilitiesGeneral knowledge of food preparation and standards of sanitation and safetyGeneral knowledge of proper storage methods for various foods, supplies, and equipmentAbility to lift up to 50 poundsPhysical mobility and agility to stand for long periodsAbility to work in adverse environmental conditionsAbility to solve most problems independently
